Kia Ora, welcome to Waitomo District Library. We provide a customer-focused and vibrant library service that informs, inspires and entertains the residents of the Waitomo District.

What's On at the Library


Free 6 week reading programme – Enrol by 23 December.  Register now for our 6 week programme. Read books over the school holidays, tell us about what you have been reading and earn some prizes. Celebrate with a party upon completing the programme. This programme is suitable for children aged 5 – 12 years. 

Creative Christmas - Wednesday 18 December.  Come along between 10.30am – 12.00 noon to make some Christmas themed crafts. 

Grand Designs – Tuesday 7 January 2020 10.30am - 12 noon. Build it yourself with lego, blocks and/or straws. Let’s see how creative you can be. 

Fun with food - Thursday 9 January 2020 10.30am - 12 noon.   Who said food was only for eating, let’s see what else is possible.

Sculpting – Tuesday 14 January 2020. Anytime between 10.30am - 12 noon. Turn a chunk of clay into a masterpiece.

Paper plane workshop and flying competition – Thursday 16 January 2020. 10.00am - 11.30am. At the Les Munro Centre.


This programme promotes active movement and brain development for babies and toddlers aged 2 years and under.  Sessions are around 30 minutes and will be held every Wednesday during the school term. 

Every Wednesday, 10.30 am


Toddler time is a fun, free session for children aged 2 to 5 years. Join us for stories and crafts every Friday during the school term.
