Wriggle and Rhyme

Waitomo District Libraries’ Wriggle & Rhyme programme is a fun and free activity session for parents and children from birth to two years.

Wriggle & Rhyme provides positive movement experiences designed to stimulate the development of your child’s body and brain - building the foundations for pre-literacy and learning.

Sessions are held every Wednesday from 10am – 10.30am.

Programme commences 7 September 2016.

 

Join us for Toddler Time

Waitomo District Library provides a fun and free session for parents and pre-school children.

Enjoy stories, songs, crafts and socialising at your local Library.

We invite you to come along, share a story, get crafty and move those happy feet.

Toddler Time is held on Wednesday’s from 11am – 12 noon.

Begins 7 September 2016.

 

Coffee and Cake Book Chat

Each month the Waitomo District Library Team hosts a Book Chat.

The group meets and discuss a wide variety of topics and books. Topics discussed range from books to films, romance, good kiwi yarns and anything in between.

The group is very informal and always looking for fellow booklovers to come along.

When: Third Wednesday of every month.

Time: 12pm - 1pm.

 

School Holiday Reading Programmes

The Waitomo District Library offers a variety of holiday programmes.

During the Summer and Winter school holidays, we hold programmes and invite children to read a number of books and then come and share their stories with the Library Team. Children receive incentives to encourage reading and participation. At the end of the summer programme we hold a fun finale party to celebrate their reading efforts and involvement in the programme.

During the other school holidays, holiday packs are created with activities, crafts and reading lists. These packs are available to children who visit the Library and issue two books. Details about the holiday reading programmes are available below.
