Date Change for Waitomo General Revaluation

15 Nov 2021, 8:37 AM

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic response and subsequent lockdowns, the Office of the Valuer General (OVG) has advised Council of the revised date for the certification of Waitomo’s values.
All Owners and Ratepayers will now receive their valuation notices in February 2022 and will have the opportunity to object to the new values at that time.
The Rating Valuations Act 1998 requires that every property in New Zealand is revalued for rating purposes at least once every three years. The latest revaluation for the Waitomo District was undertaken in September this year. The valuation notices detail the new Capital Value of your property as at 1 September 2021. The new values will be first used for rating purposes from 1 July 2022.
