Fire and Emergency New Zealand

Fire and Emergency New Zealand operates under the Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand benefits the public by providing security to both public and private rural property owners in the Waitomo District, reducing the risk of widespread damage to forestry and farms and the related negative economic impact on the District as a whole.

For further information or advice on rural fire control issues, please contact Fire and Emergency New Zealand on 0800 658 628.

On 1 July 2017, the new Fire and Emergency New Zealand Act 2017 comes into force. This Act repeals the Forest and Rural Fire Act 1997, with immediate effect.
